HSNID AWARD: Most Cool Nerd

This month's award of recognition goes to Brent Spiner who is, without a doubt, the COOLEST nerd around! With roles like Lieutenant Commander Data from Star Trek and Dr. Brackish Okun in Independence Day Spiner gives nerds everywhere hope that it is possible to be both nerdy and COOL! Thank you, Mr. Spiner, for your contribution to Nerdom!

I would hardly consider Brackish Okun a silver lining to nerdom...in fact, he's all the more reason nerds get shunned. Nigel Fenway *begins* to be role model material, but he's also a miserable ass. And for the actor himself, he's no nerd. He's a Cecil Pickett-groomed theater student with an average IQ--but he is, admittedly, really good at what he does. So believe it or not, I DO believe his work and career are highly respectable, as harsh as this post was. ^.^

Harsh? HARSH! First of all, Nerd means "someone who is in pursuit of intellect". Nerd is, by no means, an insult! Second of all, I was not posting an award of recognition to Brackish Okun himself, but to the man who portrayed him so beautifully! Brent Spiner is AWESOME and his work is extraordinary. He has mastered the "nerd" genre better than no on can, I believe. And further more, If you took note, I said that Brent Spiner was COOL! Cause, clearly, he IS!
